And after it was sold,wasn't the money at your disposal?What made you think of doing such a thing?You have not lied tomen but toGod."5 WhenAnanias heard this, he fell down and died. And great fearseized allwho heard what hadhappened.6 Then theyoung men came forward, wrapped up his body, andcarried him out and buriedhim.7 About threehours later his wife came in, not knowing what hadhappened.8 Peter askedher, "Tell me, is this the price you and Ananias got for theland?""Yes," she said, "that is theprice."9 Peter saidto her, "How could you agree to test the Spirit of the Lord?Look! The feet ofthe men who buried your husband are at the door,and they will carry you outalso."10 At thatmoment she fell down at his feet and died.
